Justin Fletcher

... is the presenter of Something Special, which was originally broadcast on CBeebies from 2003 to 2012. He was previously involved in Tweenies, originally broadcast on BBC One and Two from 1999 to 2002 (and repeated on CBeebies from its launch in 2002 until 2016).

Something Special is aimed at children with delayed learning and communication difficulties, and is designed to introduce them to Makaton – a language integrating speech, manual signs, and graphic symbols, which was developed in the 1970s to help people who cannot communicate efficiently through speech.

Mr Tumble is a clown, who himself displays delayed learning and communication difficulties. Other members of the Tumble family – all played by Fletcher – include Grandad Tumble, Barry Tumble, Baby Tumble, Lord Tumble, King Tumble, Aunt Polly, and Aunt Suki (the last two being based on characters from the nursery rhyme Polly Put the Kettle On).
